And this show is going to be a little bit different, mostly because I'm going to be a little bit different during it.

So just, and I want to talk about him just a little bit because he's

been important to me for a very long time, especially in my career. So he was a,

he's a paramedic forever. I think when they, when they started, whenever, whenever the start of EMS was, he was a paramedic.

But a lot of people know him.

I know most people that if you listen to this show locally, you almost definitely know him.

But he was a he was a paramedic that started in, gosh, early 80s.

And he actually got his EMT in a very small town here in Oregon.

And it was actually taught out of the back of an OB clinic.

And that back then, like the requirements to be an EMT was they shine the light in your left

ear.

And if it didn't come out, your right ear, you were good to go.

And, you know, you can complete, I mean, there was learning, you know, but that was the requirement to get in.

That was it. And, uh, and, and he did. And he, you know, he did a lot of different things. He did

volunteer firefighting, uh, you know, a lot like me. He ended up working for private ambulance for a good chunk of his

career. And then after that, he moved on to the fire department where he was a fire paramedic.

And he eventually retired in 2011 as a captain. And one of his biggest projects on the way out

was actually what was teaching the new volunteers that came in.
