We have an interesting little show here today, John.

You know, the questions always come in and are related, but these, it's like, you know, we've got two about

time machine and but one of them is maybe a little bit about permissions and so then we slip into

permissions and then external hard drives. It's got like this weird sort of handoff flow to it.

And then it sort of circles back around like any good comedy routine.

We're not supposed to tell them the path though. We're supposed to lead them down at John I think. So let's lead them.

We'll start with Brian and Brian writes, my question is about time machine and what not to include. I just installed a new 2

terabyte hard drive into my iMac and have reinstalled leopard because of my

networked HP laser printer and then upgraded to Snow Leopard.

My Airport Extreme Time Capsul is only 1 terabyte.

Previously I backed up everything but mail and some other settings like wallpaper. I want to ensure I back up the

essentials so I assume my excluded list in all reality should be quite long. I did make a carbon copy cloner on two separate disks file away once the system
