Yes I am. And I said we can see your view. We are trying the experiment again so this show was

broadcast live video on Ustream and the Ustream for this show will be available as an archive, too.

So from time to time you may hear us refer to the chat room, but we do always either remember or attempt to remember that there are of course far more of you out there listening audio only so we will keep that in mind and explain anything and promise not to just come up with a reference out of nowhere.

So, Chris writes, Chris in Ohio with a perplexing problem that began after a recent power outage during a thunderstorm.

My Mac Mini seems to think the Ethernet cable is unplugged, though it is most certainly plugged in.

My wireless connection on the Mac Mini works fine, and while it's nice to at least have some form of an internet connection

I'd still like to get the Ethernet working again. Having been a family tech support for 20 years

I can usually solve most computer problems, but I must concede to you

guys for your greater geek-dom on this one. I have my late 2008 Intel Mac Mini connected to

a Linksys WRT 160N a wireless router which is in turn

connected to my cable modem. Here are the steps that I have taken so far. I

checked for a bad Ethernet cable and ruled that out.
