Hi, this is Debbie Boyles, Coach at Mojo for Running with podcast number 92,

0:12.7

valuable perspective on a few days off from running.

0:17.0

If you have to take a few days off from running, for whatever reason, it will be much easier

0:22.2

if you put it into the right perspective. On a regular basis, someone texts, calls, or emails

0:28.9

me in a state of great anxiety because they have an ache or a pain. Sometimes it is something

0:34.8

that is, in fact, an injury already, but more often it is not a full-bun

0:40.3

injury, yet something that can be cured by a few days off for running, but that doesn't stop

0:47.6

them for being super, super stressed out about it. The state of extreme stress happens to runners of all levels,

0:56.6

1:24.3

the wrong way, lifting a child, or something else. In the last few weeks, I've had runners

1:30.4

in pain due to running a short distance while carrying a two-year-old, yes, that did happen,

1:37.0

twisting an ankle on the way to the mailbox, and joining a new class at the Y. I've had others

1:43.7

missed days, several days at a time due to the flu,

1:46.9

a death in the family, too many hours at work or school, and other problems. When there's any

1:52.7

injury, whether it's related to running or not, taking a few days off from work is never ill-advised.

2:00.7

I said, taking a few days off from work, I mean taking a few days off from work is never ill-advised. I said taking a few days off from work, I mean taking a few days

2:04.7

off from running. Yes, I'm a running coach, and yes, I did say that. In fact, it's usually the first

2:12.0

thing I suggest to take a few days off. Now, my runners hate to hear this,
