warm-up show until six. Boomer and Gio to break down the entire mess from last night's Patriots went over the Giants. What else, Al? A little bit lost in the Giants news and all their disasters. I saw that the Mets are signing Devin Williams. Yeah, ironically enough, I actually like this move. You do? I do, and I was not a big fan of his last year, clearly, though I thought he pitched much better

in the back end.

I think it's a good move from the standpoint of if they don't resign it, when Diaz.

You got a guy who, while had his struggles with the Yankees for sure, did kind of figure it out

as the season went on in the past has been a great closer and knows New York now at this point. It's not like he's coming to New York fresh. He'd be dealt with it in the Bronx. Now he's coming over to the city field. I don't know what David Stern's promised him that he's going to be the closer or the setup guy to Diaz. But if you lost Diaz for nothing, which you would have as a free agent, I don't care about picks or any of that stuff. But it wasn't a trade. If you lost Diaz because he opted out, who's your closer? They actually have a fallback now. So I actually think it was a smart move. And if you get Diaz back, look at that eighth, ninth inning setup now. It's pretty damn good.

Yeah, I know, like you mentioned, he figured it out towards the back end of the season.

I was at the last two months, yeah.

But funny, like when I saw the story initially, in my head, I was like, oh, this guy is not good anymore.

Yeah, he was really bad in the beginning, really bad. Like the initial eyeball test when I saw the article. Yeah. I was like, I don't know, as a Met fan. Sure. This guy, this guy seems like he's going to come in and blow games. Well, maybe, but he blew games early in the season as the closer. When the closer role was taken away from him, he really worked his way back and became like that dominant eighth inning guy.

I don't know if he's got the mentality to be a closer New York. I have no idea. But what's the

alternative if Diaz doesn't come back? That would be my question to you. Do you think I know we're

focused on the Mets and Yankees here? And we baseball more than any other sport, we really don't pay

as much attention to the other markets.

Yeah.

Do you think if I took a look at statistically who were the best closers this year, and I went

through like the top seven guys, that I could look at a part of the season where they were all

terrible at some stretch?
