Yesterday at City Field was about as good as it gets, and then you get a break,

and then you get Gary Keith and Ron back on SNY, the voices of your spring, summer,

and hopefully deep into the fall, but even though they have to stop at the regular season,

we understand that, but hopefully we hear these guys calling meaningful games in September

and call Howie being able to call a

clinching game deep into September, whether it's the division or a wild card or whatever and

get some playoffs in there. It was great to hear a final opening day, put it in the books from

Howie yesterday as I was actually in the car when the game ended, so I was able to hear that.

But I know that it is overreaction every time that we're going to watch these teams in the first couple of weeks, and then we'll say, well, you know, sample sizes, sample size that.

But when the team makes as many changes as they did and the hitting coach has changed,

the pitching coaches change, the bench coach had changed, and the type of players that are

on the roster in the lineup, their approach at the plate, and they do what they did, which

took a ton of walks, fouled off a ton of pitches, were relentless and put up that many runs? Yeah. That is encouraging. That is not only encouraging. It's more than expected. I think we expected some of that, but yesterday it came in bunches. And like I said, the bottom of the order, and he came from a bunch of guys, you know, whether it be Greg Beatty or Carson Benj.

You keep doing the Greg Beatty.

Is it Greg Brady? I'm saying that. I'm sorry about that. So I'm sorry about that. It's okay. I keep doing that. I got to break that habit. It's all right. All right. So anyway, Beatty, Francisco, Alvarez, those guys are going to be, we're going to be put in situations where, you know, yesterday they came through. Thankfully, O'Neill Cruz came through for Beatty in the first inning. Yeah. And he needs to crap out of that ball, but yes, it should have been caught by a real centerfielder. And he also came through for Marcus Simeon, too. Yeah. So, and five new guys in the lineup. Five guys all had RBIs. And they take nine or ten walks yesterday, as you were saying. Was it 11? 11 maybe? I'm not sure. And by the way, the Met pitching didn't give up any based on balls, I don't think. They did give up a few home runs. But, and that was a little bit. uh, deal with the other thing, too, is the, the bottom of

the eighth inning, remember Carson Benj gets on and he's still second.

Yeah.

And lighter is, they're talking about it a little bit in the, uh, in the, in the booth.

And they were wondering, like, you know, is that appropriate to do and everything?

And I guess I don't know who was the guy that basically said, you know, everybody's playing as if they're playing in Colorado nowadays.
