I think, and we'll get back to calls in a minute, but I do want to show you how Carlos Mendoza lost his job in 48 hours. There's a process here. Okay. So I want to start off with what he said on Monday. Okay, so this is after the Mets lose to the Reds, seven to two. And Mendoza was asked about, you know, hey, we're a third of the way through the season. Like at what point do you just say, maybe we're not that good? I think this answer by Carlos Mendoza would be enough if I was the owner to say, okay, he has given up. Take a listen. We gotta go out and do it. There's so much I could sit here and say, well, we worry, like, we got to go out and do it ourselves.

You know, we're not putting ourselves in a good position, obviously.

I've been saying it, it's not early anymore.

Yeah, I think it's just whatever I say it here, it doesn't matter.

We got to go out and do it.

The reason this one bothered me is because it was the same thing I've heard for two months. It was like repetitive. No matter what I say doesn't matter. What I say doesn't matter. What are you saying then? Yeah. He's done. You make a comment like that. That's why I thought there was a chance they were going to get rid of him on Memorial Day night because, hey, Knicks are playing. No one's i thought that was damning like basically i got no answer right and then and no matter what i say

it's not going to affect how mark viento's or brett betty maybe simeon and soto who have actually

hit a little bit but like it's not making any difference difference to the outcome of these games.

So number one, he says I have no answer.

And the number two last night, I think is the final nail. And with all due respect, because we all like Carlos, nice guy, blah, blah, blah. Yeah. I feel like we say that all the time about him because he is a nice guy. What happened last night is unacceptable. And so if you're not familiar with what happened last night in a blowout at the hands of the Reds,

David Peterson, who sucked hands of the Reds,

David Peterson, who sucked, eight of the first nine guys got on base, and he was lucky that they weren't being blown out,

did not cover or did not back up the catcher on a play at the plate.

And I want to start with Ron Darling, because Ron Darling on the SNI, SNY broadcast did not

hold back, not only crucifying Mendoza, but the entire coaching staff. Take a listen to what Ronnie

said last night after Peterson, again, did not back up Terence behind the plate.

I don't understand it. It really tells me that coaches really don't have as much influence

as the players as I think they have, because someone should rip someone at some point, but

they don't because they don't want to upset anyone.

You have to back up bases every single time.

You don't think that'll be addressed after the game at all?

It might be, but not addressed the way it should be addressed.
