And for the first time in this 2025 Major League Baseball season, we can say the Mets are scuffling.

The Mets are struggling.

Ever since the three games sweep over the Philadelphia Phillies,

this has not been the best brand of New York Mets baseball, a split in Washington against the

nationals that featured two kicking the ball losses, a losing series at home against the

diamondbacks, and now this, this garbage, losing two out of three to the St. Louis Cardinals and being swept of a double header on a Sunday afternoon.

Both one-run losses, both games in which it felt like, yes, the Mets hit into terrible luck.

But in both games, the Mets miss that big hit, that big, big hit, that enormous hit.

And so they lose two out of three to a crappy St. Louis Cardinal team.

Let's start off with the way this thing ended.

And the way this thing ended was Michael McGruevy, not the former governor.

I think that was Peter McGreevy, but Michael McGreevy, a former Cardinals top prospect,

coming into a game with the bases loaded and won out right after Juan Soto,

got absolutely robbed by Victor Scott.

And little did we know when McGreevy came into this game in the fourth inning

and struck out Vientos and got very lucky on a line drive off the bat of Brandon Nemo.

Little did we know that Michael McGreevy would now live in our heads in Met History as that guy

who came into a random game in early May and somehow pitched five and two thirds innings

scoreless baseball,

to completely shut down this offense.
