I'm the big fun wizard, Holden McNeely. And I'm the bruiser, Jake Young, and we're here to talk about a lovely fun family game from the Nintendo

Corporation. That's right. In this episode, it just feels so good.

We're talking about Metroid, everybody.

Of course, this is our, you know, we did an episode on Castlevania.

If you haven't heard that yet, check out last week.

And we decided, you know what, we can't have an episode of Castlevania without then having an episode of Metroid, thus finishing out the old

name of the genre, Castlevaniaoid.

Castlevania, I, um, Metroid, uh, I, reviewing this, uh, for notes, I realize, holy shit,

I've played and like loved, like, almost every single one of the games in this franchise.

Well, it's just like the sparseness of tone and the music itself, just like the weird kind of desolation.

Metroid itself is a bizarre franchise in that sense.

It's just one game every, like years and people are still screaming for a new

2D side scroller Metroid since, you know, Super Metroid essentially, even though they do

have Metroid Fusion, which we will talk about later.

Yeah, it's kind of this weird dichotomy because Metroid is not popular in Japan.

It just is.
