Now, Mayor Eric Adams' chief advisor and longtime aide, Ingrid Lewis Martin, is leaving her post.

It comes as she faces an investigation on corruption allegations and a possible indictment that could come as soon as this week.

And that was what Ingrid Lewis Martin told a radio show back in September, saying she might stay on longer because of the mayor's legal trouble.

But now it looks like her own legal trouble may be the reason Adam's chief advisor and loyal confidant since 2004 announced her retirement effective immediately.

Investigators with the Manhattan DA's office searched Lewis Martin's home in September

and seized her phones at the time she defended herself and the mayor.
