A while back, I developed a very unique and effective mental conditioning tool, one that I call mental reps.

0:10.4

And it was something that I developed almost on accident to deal with a lot of doubts and insecurities and fears that I was feeling at a particular time of my life.

0:19.1

And at this time, I was a firefighter. This is early

0:21.6

in the development of I'm not you, but I was a firefighter at the time, father of five,

0:26.2

rookie entrepreneur, and it was tough. And I had a lot of indecision that would creep in. It was a lot of

0:32.5

things that I was juggling. And I was new to a lot of things. It was an entirely new stage of my career in many

1:19.6

was I find myself instead of feeling fear, I'd be vibrating with the most beastlike energy

1:25.5

after these workouts. And it would take me far into the day and sometimes even two or three days afterward.

1:33.2

And so, of course, I'll be listening to rap.

1:35.0

So my chance would oftentimes follow the rhythm.

1:38.0

All right.

1:38.7

So this turned into a really powerful mental conditioning tool for me, like I said,

1:43.0

and I started carrying it

1:44.2

with me, not just with my jump ropes, but also running, anything that had sort of a rhythm to it.
