Dr. Elizabeth Ford was the former Director of Forensic Psychiatry at Bellevue Hospital and the Chief of Psychiatry at Rikers Island. Dr. Ford has spent the majority of her 20-year career working to improve treatment for incarcerated people with serious mental illness. She is currently the Director of Mental Health/Criminal Justice Initiatives and Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University.
