Hey, it's Kelly, and at the end of every week, I like to share something true and useful,

something I stumbled over that gave me a burst of optimism, something you can share with

friends like an audio greeting card, something to help us all keep our eyes on what's working

and what could be.

When I was in college, I don't believe there was a course called the Diversity of Human

Sexuality, but if there had been, I hope it would have been as popular as Dr. Nicole McNichols

at the University of Washington.

You'll hear that episode on Tuesday in the regular Kelly Corgan Wonders' Feed.

But while I was in Seattle, thanks to a good friend of mine's daughter, I found my way

into the apartment with six or seven young women who were more than happy to talk to me

about all the things that I have so wondered about as a mother of college kids.

So I held my phone out while we talked about diagnoses, medication, eating disorders, body

image, sex, drugs, and maybe even rock and roll.

You'll be happy to know the scene was strangely familiar.

There were tapestries hanging on the walls and lava lamps, I believe I spied a bong.

But what I had either forgotten about my own college experience or couldn't have actually

said of my own college experience is that these young women were in it to win it.

They're very bright, very forthcoming, and determined to help us understand their experience

better and partner with them in the very hard job of growing up.
