Hey guys, happy Friday.

This week's go-to is about marriage, today is my 22nd wedding anniversary, and I wanted

to share a story about a nice thing that Edward did for me that sort of exemplifies how marriage

and life offer up these weird opportunities to do something loving that bears no resemblance

whatsoever to the ways you thought you would show each other your affection.

On the day I shook his hand for the first time, Edward Lichten and I both recall feeling

slightly superior to the other.

I had a better face, he had a better body, still true.

I had a bigger personality, he had a bigger IQ, still true.

It went slowly thanks to a few superficial reservations and then very fast.

We had about the same level of interest or disinterest in all significant matters.

Family work, sex, music, and God.

We were effortlessly and often in the same mood, whatever the mood was.

In no time, we were ticking off the milestones at a rate of one a year, engaged, married,

baby, baby, house.

I stayed home and he went to work and less and less, did we find ourselves in the same
