Summary

All last week on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, we’ve been supporting something far more important than football - Mental Health Awareness. Every night on the show, we’ve been having conversations with football organisations and fans involved in the game, as part of Mental Health Awareness Week. We’ve been discussing how football can support people who are struggling, and how it can have a positive impact on our mental wellbeing. Our guests included: - Joe McKee, the Business Development Manager from charity Back Onside, and Dumbarton F.C. player. https://backonside.co.uk/ - Isla Buchanan, a football referee and ambassador for the Scottish Football Association. https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/power-of-football-islas-story/ - David Duke, CEO and founder of Street Soccer Scotland. https://streetsoccerscotland.org/about/ - Motherwell fan, Liam Casey. https://twitter.com/liamcasey86 - David McCracken, the Wellbeing Officer for PFA Scotland. https://pfascotland.co.uk/meet-the-team/ If any of the issues from our show have affected you, don't hesitate to contact anyone mentioned above. If you are struggling to cope and need someone to talk to – the best people you can speak to are Samaritans. They are available to speak to you, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – their number is 116 123. If you prefer to write things down, you can email them and they will reply straight away - jo@samaritans.org is their email.
