Book Riot.com. It's the last day of the first half of the year. Does this mean

anything to you? No. Yeah. June 20th means something to me but not this yeah like the summer solstice the

start of summer that all means something to me just in that feels like okay the

longest day of the year the most sunlight it's like really summer

weather kind of no matter where you are in the country but just the end of June being halfway

through the year doesn't it doesn't mean anything to be

usually other than like oh crap we're already half way through. Halfway through. Yeah it's not it's not

it's not like turning 40 it'd be like looking at your actuarial table and say I'm expected to live to 88.7 years

and meaning like at 44.35 you know let's mark this somehow. Yeah I have had that

existential moment this year about turning 40 and like the literal meaning of midlife.

Yes.

But I'm not having it about the midpoint of the year so far.

Yeah, though I should say this, we are going to use as the occasion to demarcate one half of the other

and so for our bonus Patreon episode this week which we're going to record right after

this episode but we're going to talk about our favorite reads, the books we've, our favorite books we've read so far this year.

My front list FOIA adventure has yielded interesting dividends in this regard.

And I was, I've read 75 books so in this regard.

and I got my list down to 12.
