Not sure if anyone heard about this. It was a smaller story in the sports pages just in the UK.

But Friday morning, Manchester United announced that they had reached a deal to sign the 36-year-old Ronaldo from Juventus.

He had his medical import school this weekend. Appears all set to join United after the international break, returning to the club, with which he lit up Premier League grounds from those trophy-filled years between 2003 and 2009.

Further proof that we're all just living in a simulation, Roger.

He'd be tweaking. I'm in top line, top line.

This is a move that we lived in a chaotic, crazed end of last week. A move that reflects really the insane arms race that we've been talking about for the past few months at the top levels of global football where PSG, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United.

We're almost pretending to be in there. We will see. They're trying to be essentially like the sporting equivalents of Bezos, Branson and Musks sending penis-shaped rockets towards the moon.

But I mean, you could say this is really just a crazy super league in different clavis.

That's rational. But emotionally, I have not been so excited to watch the football as I was this weekend.
