It's so great, I've got to be honest, to celebrate it with you all here in Portland. Just a week after your sparkling newly renovated dual box of a stadium, Providence Park was opened.

I was there this morning. It is a genuine wonder, pulsating of all that peculiarly wonderful energy that this city can provide.

The Land of Port. The city that gave America some of its most kick ass women. Like Abigail Scott done away!

An early 20th century Portland legend known as the Pioneer Women's suffragist of the Great Northwest who worked tirelessly to ensure that in 1912 we were there.

We just started podcasting. Oregon became the seventh state to pass a women's right to vote!

And her work inspired generations of feminists in Oregon and beyond.

On the Flippety Flip Rodge 13-year-old Olivia Maltry, who at the tender batmits for age has become the youngest American player ever to turn professional.

May whatever dream she harbours for herself in life come true.

And most thrillingly and life affirmingly of all this great city is home to GFOP Aaron Morrison.

We met her last year. Aaron was a healthy elite club footballer for FC Portland heading into the 9th grade when she was suddenly diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma.

After five months of treatment we are delighted that Aaron is back in action.
