So much of what we believed was certain, even a week ago, has been eviscerated in the blink of an eye and I keep returning to a line that Ann Applebaum wrote in the Atlantic this week that equated.

I think on Wednesday's live pod. She read that history has accelerated. The impossible has become possible.

Shifts that no one imagined two weeks ago are unfolding with incredible speed.

And that truth was written to reflect the notion of the post Cold War peace, which has been gutted.

And it's also fitting for the aftershocks felt within football which are lesser.
