This is Roch with an emergency pod on a dark day for all who love the game of football and dream of its growth in this nation.

The day in which US Soccer has been shattered by the truly surreal news that the revelation today that the unnamed individuals who reported Greg Berholt as assault of his then-girlfriend, now wife Rosbur Holter, to US Soccer,

and threatened to reveal the information outside with the rena's US football legend Claudio in his wife, Daniel Reina, Gia Reina's parents,

the Berholt's longtime friends and teammates.

This is the team that represents our country. This is our nation, supposedly at our best.

The day in which we pin on most profound sporting hopes and dreams has been subsumed by the darkest and most personal of familial revenge stories and narrative.

It will be thrown out of an afternoon soap opera writer's room.

Days of our lives would be this too far fetched, too inconceivable.

But it's true, news broke this afternoon, first reported by ESPN, journalist Jeff Collile wrote that United States Mentor National Team Captain Claudio Reina sent multiple messages to US Soccer executives during the World Cup,

quote, threatening to reveal sensitive details about US Mentor National Team coach Greg Berholt's past.

Now bear with me for a moment up top, there's been a lot of statements and counter statements and I want to read a couple of them so that we cover all of the angles and give everybody their due in this moment amidst the chaos and the smoke that has descended.

Claudio Reina put out a statement to Doug McIntyre at Fox saying, well in Qatar, I shared my frustrations about my son's World Cup experience with a number of close friends, Ernie and Brian McBride,

both of them now work within US Soccer and he stew at Brian McBride back to the quote among them.

However, a no-tined did I ever threaten anyone, nor would I ever do so.

And then on December 11th, that was the day you'll remember, how could you forget the same day Greg Berholt told a supposedly off the record leadership conference that he had enormous problems at the World Cup with a single player who we almost sent home.

It's quickly revealed by journalists to be Geo Reina. Well today Daniel Reina, Geo's mum, put out a statement that she called US Soccer Sporting Director Ernie Stewart in the wake of that news.

And she'd read that news, that to me editorializing. So she's saying she heard the news, she heard about the press conference, she heard about the scathing and semi-open revelation of Geo's behavior.
