| 0:00.0 | Hi, everybody. Welcome to the librarian is in the New York Public Library's podcast about books, culture, and what to read next. I am Gwen. |
| 0:17.7 | I'm Frank. And we are here today to talk about you. Yes. Me? Because we're always here to |
| 0:26.6 | talk about you, Frank. That's pretty much our MO. This is an all Frank podcast, which I'm going to |
| 0:32.3 | leave the room for, because it's about me, not by me. No, this is our 100th podcast. It is. And we, we're having a lot of |
| 0:41.9 | emotions related to our 100th podcast. As, as one will. I mean, it just occurred to me, what was, like, |
| 0:48.6 | the happiest day or the most exciting day as a kid when you're growing up, let's say, possibly? |
| 0:52.8 | Your birthday, right? Oh, I was going to say the last school. Doesn't it always end in tears? Because the stress is too much. Like, it's too much. Like the birthday girl or birthday boy always ends up having a tantrum because it's too much. So maybe that's what I'm feeling. It's too much. Maybe. It does, It does feel lot. And like, I'm really glad that we are marking this occasion, mostly because we were super excited about the phone line and about the calls that you guys have been sending in or calling in, which have been so much fun to listen to. And we get them as emails forwarded to us from our producer. And it's so cool to hear your voices. |
| 1:29.1 | And so I feel like that kind of like gave us this big ramp up for our 100th episode. |
| 1:34.1 | And for sure. |
| 1:34.7 | Yeah. |
| 1:35.0 | And so we wanted to really thank everybody for listening and for putting up with us for this long, which is crazy. |
| 1:40.4 | See, like the childhood birthday. |
| 1:41.7 | I love and look forward to and can't wait and secretly hope to get comments on the multiple platforms we have now, like the voicemail, the blog post on NYPL site, iTunes. And then when I read them, I'm usually so, I'm always excited because they're always so lovely and nice. And then I feel the pressure of writing |
| 2:02.9 | thank you notes. Like, I want to write a thank you note to each and every one of you. And I don't, |
| 2:07.3 | you know, you can't necessarily do that. And so it's so lovely to, it really is. I mean, that's really |
| 2:12.8 | probably the pressure or the, this weird happiness slash stress that people are responding and do listen and that is |
| 2:21.6 | really wonderful yeah it really is because this really we really did start out i think kind of feeling |
| 2:26.6 | like it was just a lark and that nobody was really going to listen to this and that i i don't think i |
| 2:31.8 | started out thinking that we were going to last for 100 episodes |
| 2:34.8 | or that anybody would really like respond to it. |
| 2:37.4 | Now it's like we're accepting our lifetime achievement award. |
| 2:39.7 | Maybe we should just pull it back a little bit. |
