Hey everybody, this is Heidi St. John. It is Monday, May 29th. Happy Memorial Day. Welcome

to the Busy Mom Podcast.

So I'm not going to do my normal 20 minutes or 15 minutes today. I'm going to actually shorten

it today because it's a holiday for one. And because I hope you guys are spending some

time with your families today, but I thought it would be kind of a different thing to do

something kind of go off the narrative, what I normally do on Mailbox Monday here at the

podcast and just give you some history, a little bit of history so that you can talk about

Memorial Day with your kids and talk about why it's more than just a holiday. It's more

than just a day to barbecue and a day to go down to Home Depot and find lamps on sale

and stuff like that. And I want to just encourage you that if you haven't taken time to explain

to your children why we have Memorial Day. I think one of the things that we're struggling

with in the culture right now is to really appreciate the sacrifices that were made for
