You have heard me talk about this a good bit over the last few years.

My love with the ultra-wide arms rifles are new

ultra-light arms rifles. Melvin Forbes, of course, the creator, the inventor, and the guy that put all that together. Well, we got some sad news this week that Melvin passed away and trying to remember Melvin and kind of explained to people who may not know the impact he had.

stuff Ron you reached an awful lot of people but you were one of the early

adopters of Melvin's ultra light arms rifles I believe.

Yeah I was fortunate to be that Tom Tom. Gosh, what a treat.

I think it was around 1988.

I think I met Mel in his booth at one of the shows,

probably an NRA show.

And I was hot to have a lightweight rifle in those days really looking for

something for my sheep hunting was just getting into it and I found this thing and

I picked it up and I couldn't believe it You know it was incredibly light right around five

pounds a little bit less actually before you scoped it and but it felt firm and

solid and gosh I thought can I call one of these out maybe write an article for you.

He said yeah sure and he sent me it and oh my goodness I just got things sheep hunting and white tail hunting and coyote hunting and you name it.
