killed Darren Rainey, a black schizophrenic man, by putting him in a shower with scalding water for at least an hour and a half.

Please tell us why you're running and what made you run.

Yeah, so hey everyone, my name is Melba Pearson.

I'm running to be the next state attorney for Miami-Dade County, Florida.

And thank you, Katie, for having me on.

And I'm really looking forward to our chat.

So a little bit about me, I was a prosecutor for 16 years

in that same office.

So I know what works well. I know what doesn't, and then I then

became the deputy director for the ACLU of Florida. So I really got that like
