studio. It's Mel McMan. Okay, Mel, you worked here at

WIBC for many years, so a lot of people are familiar with

you. Yeah, I was here for a long time, did afternoons and

weekend, so you couldn't get away from me. Sorry about that.

Right now you're serving as the executive producer of

RadioThon, and that begins on Friday here at WIBC.

And I'm the new kid, so you're the one with all the

experience in this. What is RadioThon? Well, first of

all, I'm so excited to meet you in person, been listening

since you came on, and it's lovely to meet you, and I'm

so excited for you to have your first WIBC RadioThon for

the Salvation Army, because it is so much fun, it's so

rewarding, and it's for such a good cause. So 28 years

ago, the RadioThon started as just a few hours on the

circle, seeing if they could raise some money. I think

maybe they got $500, and it has grown into a 36 hour on

air campaign, where last year we raised a record breaking

$426,000 for kids in Central Indiana. That's fantastic.

It was amazing. It was amazing. It's grown over the years.
