Hello again, everybody, and welcome to First Draft, and if you are like me, then this is a holiday edition of our show because Mel Kuiper Jr. has a mock draft available. It is actually Mel's final mock draft of this process. So Mel Kuiper, the man who invented the draft, will now see all. Today we will do round one of Mel's mock draft, and then in our next edition of first draft, we will do Mel's round two.

So let me start with you, Youngfielding, before we get to Mel's picks. What are you most interested to see? Everyone asks me.

What are the big questions surrounding the draft? I'll ask you. What are you most curious to see about what decisions Mel has made? We'll dive into where Jeremiah Love ends up in a moment, greening, which fascinates me for many reasons, but I wanted to alert the masses to something. There's some strategy involved here by Kuyper, because you're probably saying to yourself, it's Wednesday at the earliest when I'm watching or listening to this show. The drafts in eight days.

Mel's doing his final mock draft on Wednesday, eight days. There's an eternity until the first day of the 26 NFL draft. You could do a mock draft every day for the next eight days. So why is he

doing this? And here's the answer. He pulled a veteran move that has incredible savvy. We were talking uncommon savvy here.

You know, I am now responsible for doing the mock draft that lives on ESPN.com on the final day,

the first day, I should say, the 2026 NFL draft. And if you get stuff wrong on a draft,

a mock draft that debuts the day of the draft, people say, eh, he wasn't that good. But if you have an eight-day buffer, people can say, well, a lot of stuff can change between eight days from the NFL draft and the actual NFL draft. So the veteran move here by Kuiper, the pressure, that's me. I have the pressure now. I got to do the mock draft that has to beat all other mock drafts.

I'll be working on mine over the next eight days here. I see you though, Mel. I know what you're doing here. Method to the madness, my friend. Method to the madness because I had done this for

40-some years and I said young fielding deserves to have that pressure. He can handle it. He's in

his 30s. I'm almost 70, right?

And he can handle it. So there you go. I knew the pressure would get to me after all these you. It would not get to you. I even did one thing. I don't think anybody has done up to this point. I know you had, I projected a couple trades fields. So I did take a few chances, okay? I did do something a little bit outside the box for me, and I projected a couple trades.
