Domini, shortly after news broke that President Donald Trump is reportedly considering

whether to intercede in the mayor's race.

Now, according to the New York Times, President Trump even called former governor Andrew Cuomo in recent weeks to discuss the race.

Now, at least publicly, Trump and Cuomo had his somewhat tumultuous relationship, especially during the COVID pandemic when the two regularly

threw jabs at each other in press conferences. The Justice Department has also reportedly

opened a probe into whether Cuomo lied to Congress about his handling of nursing home COVID deaths.

But now that Mom Doni has won the Democratic primary, there is some concern among business leaders and others in Trump's circle about how Magdoni's policies like raising taxes on billionaires and freezing the rent on rent-stabilized apartments will impact the city's economy.

Some Republicans are now seeing Momdani's possible win as an opportunity, potentially giving Republicans a better chance of the governor's race or even midterms next year.
