I'm Kristen Welker on an extraordinary day in Washington,

where the nation's top health official, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., faced bipartisan backlash during a combative hearing on Capitol Hill. As senators from both sides of the aisle

expressed deep concerns about his leadership, Kennedy testified that the CDC had been lying to

the American public during the pandemic. He said that MRNA vaccines were dangerous and in a shocking

moment appeared to confirm his belief that there is no such thing as a safe and effective vaccine.

Look. I mean, we were lied to about everything. We relied to about natural immunity. We were

lied to about, you know, we were told again and again,

the vaccines would prevent transmission, they'd prevent infection. It wasn't true. They knew it

from the start. Are you aware that another one of these new members, Dr. Levy, wrote that, quote,

evidence is mounting and indisputable that MRNA vaccines cause serious harm,

including death, especially among young people? Yes or no? Are you aware that he said that?

I wasn't aware he said it, but I think I agree with it. You agree with it. It's not true. It wasn't true

when he said it. It is not true when you said.
