0:55.7	divisive and damaging political battles are colliding today, impeaching a sitting president
1:00.8	and shutting down the government. Today, the House Oversight Committee held the first hearing
1:04.9	in Republicans' impeachment inquiry into President Biden's alleged ties to his son's business dealings.
1:10.5	Launching this impeachment inquiry was one of the demands from Republican hardliners,
1:14.5	a group that Kevin McCarthy is trying to wrangle as the government is set to shut down in two days.
1:20.1	And today's hearing, which is still going on, Republicans pushing largely on proven allegations
1:26.5	against the President and Democrats responding. Since assuming our Republican majority in January,
1:32.7	the House Oversight and Accountability Committee has uncovered a mountain of evidence revealing how
1:37.4	Joe Biden abused his public office for his family's financial gain. For years, President Biden
1:43.8	has lied to the American people about his knowledge of and participation in his family's corrupt
1:51.0	business schemes. All right, so let's get it straight. We're 62 hours away from shutting down
1:56.8	the government of the United States of America, and Republicans are launching an impeachment drive
2:02.4	based on a long debunked and discredited lie. No foreign enemies ever been able to shut down the
2:08.6	government of the United States, but now mega-Republicans are about to do just that.
