It is Election Day in America.

I am Kristen Welker at NBC News headquarters in New York, and voters are voting across the country, casting their ballots with

the first Bulls set to close in less than three hours, in-person voting, kicking off

bright and early in Dixville, Notch, New Hampshire, as is tradition, with the town's six

registered voters casting their ballots at midnight. The results? A tie, folks, a small example of just

how close this presidential race could be. Today, both Vice President Harris and former President

Trump are off the campaign trail after making their final pitches to battleground voters

overnight. Mr. Trump spending election day in his home state of Florida,

where he and his wife, Melania, voted earlier today. The former president briefly speaking to

reporters and telling our own Garrett Hake that he has no regrets about his campaign.

Look, regrets. You always have regrets. I can't think of any, to be honest, to use her expression.

I can't think of any.

Look, I ran a great campaign.

I think it was maybe the best of the three.

We did great in the first one.

We did much better in the second one, but something happened.

And this was the best.

I would say this was the best campaign we run. Now it comes after Mr. Trump closed his campaign in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the same place

he finished his campaign in 2016 and 2020. Last night, mixing optimism with unsubstantiated

claims about voting machines along with familiar attacks on his opponents.
