Hi there and welcome to meet the press now. I'm Ryan Nobles in Washington. And we begin today with the breaking news as Israel and Hezbollah have agreed to a permanent ceasefire deal to end the months-long hostilities and cross-border

Moments ago, President Biden spoke at the White House Rose Garden immediately after the Israeli

cabinet voted to approve the deal.

In his remarks, the president applauding the diplomatic breakthrough between Israel and Hezbollah.

This is designed to be a permanent cessation of hostilities.

Now, over the next 60 days, Israel is expected to begin withdrawing from Lebanon, and that

Hezbollah is expected to retreat north of the Latani River in Lebanon.

A safe zone would then be created between the two sides.

Before the Israeli cabinet met, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed his nation,

speaking in Hebrew and laying out the details of the deal.

The duration of the ceasefire depends on what happens in Lebanon.

We are maintaining our full liberty to take military operations.
