If it's Tuesday, we're following breaking news out of Baltimore where emergency rescue teams are

racing to find at least six people still unaccounted for after a cargo ship crashed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge,

sending the entire bridge plummeting to the water. Plus the Supreme Court hears

campaigning together in battleground North Carolina as the White House looks to

flip the Tarheel state and R.F.K. Jr. picks his running mate, naming an attorney with no

background in politics to be his vice president. Welcome to Meet the Press Now, I'm Garrett Haake in Washington. We begin today with the breaking news out of Baltimore.

This video captures the moment a cargo ship struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge around

1 30 this morning, causing nearly all of the mile long span to collapse into the

Patasca River below. This is all the remains of the key bridge right now. Rescue

teams are searching for six people believed to be missing. Moments ago, Maryland Governor West Moore, along with Transportation Secretary Pete

Buttigieg gave an update on the rescue operations that began shortly after the collapse. This is very much still a search and rescue mission.

We are still actively looking for survivors.

We know, and that's the pledge we've made to these families and

this is still very much an active search and rescue mission. And there is not a

single resource that we will hold off on deploying.

I have already authorized the deployment of everything from air, land, and sea resources

to make sure that this search and rescue operation is carried out to its fullest intent.

Our work is just beginning to rebuild this bridge and deal with impacts in the meantime,

But today we are most acutely focused on the emergency operations underway and on the families that have been impacted.
