Now I'm Kristen Welker in Washington, where we're following breaking news as the former

president is once again bracing for another indictment and potential arrest.

This morning Donald Trump publicly stated an NBC News federal law enforcement source has

confirmed he is formally a target of the special counsel's criminal investigation into January

6th and efforts to interfere with the 2020 election.

The special counsel's office informed Trump as part of a target letter on Sunday.

The former president says he's been given four days to report to the grand jury, which

almost always means an arrest and indictment.

A spokesperson for the special counsel's office declined to comment.

To be clear, we don't know when Mr. Trump could face charges or what exactly those charges

The former president accused the special counsel of trying to interfere with his current
