perhaps making the biggest statement about his authority by directing sweeping action on border security and pardoning or commuting the sentences of more than 1,500 January 6th defendants, including those sentenced for assaulting police officers.

Let's start with the border. Here are just some of the actions President Trump announced yesterday, declaring a national emergency at the border,

directing the military to come up with a plan to repel what he calls an active invasion,
