on everything from computer chips to prescription drugs. In an interview on CNBC, the president

claimed that tariffs were boosting his poll numbers, even though his approval rating has weakened

across multiple polls, and most voters disapprove of his handling of the economy.

Still, the president doubled down on his tariff agenda while vowing sweeping new penalties on
