state's Republican-controlled House answered his call to pass new gerrymandered congressional maps

that could give Republicans five more seats in Congress in the 26 midterms. Those maps are expected

to sail through the Texas Senate could happen as early as later today.

They could land on Governor Greg Abbott's desk for his signature by the end of this week.

Texas Democrats, who temporarily delayed the effort you'll remember by fleeing the state,

they slammed their Republican colleagues after the vote pledging to fight on.
