And you're listening to Works for Us, where we talk to people about what works for them

and their relationships and, of course, what doesn't.

On this episode of Works for Us, we wanted to give a little more background and

color into our relationship by talking about our actual parents.

Whether you like it or not, your parents play a huge role in pretty much every other relationship

in your life for the rest of your life. And now that Roger and I are parents, I have such a new

or very, very deepened respect for my own parents just by having a better understanding

that it's the actual scariest and most

wonderful job you could ever have. I mean, my parents have influenced me in so many ways.

I don't know. I've always felt like I've tried to take the things I've loved the most about my

parents. I respect the most about my parents and try and run with those things,

like being good people and always being kind to people

and being grateful and gracious and all of those things.

And then the things that irritated me about both of my parents,

I try, if I catch myself doing those,

then I try to not do those. Yeah, I think one of the great

challenges is life is to try not to be your parents. I mean, or try to be your parents. Well,
