its candidate to go up against Reform UK's Matt Goodwin in the Gorton and Denton by election.

Leader Zach Polanski unveiled the party's pick at a press conference.

Westminster, the houses of Parliament. Leaky roofs, crumbling walls. I think they need a plumber. And the plasterer.

And we happen to have one woman who can do both.

And it's my absolute privilege.

It's always an honour to introduce candidates to the stage. But this

for me isn't just the candidate. This is a close friend. This is a special person who I know

is going to represent us amazingly on the national stage. Please welcome to the stage. Manchester's

first Green MP or soon to be Hannah Spencer.

So Hannah Spencer, as you heard, Zach refer to there is a plumber.

She's currently training to become plasterer.

She's also a lifelong greater Manchester resident and currently serves as a Green Party councillor for Hale.

Spencer's opponent is not a lifelong resident of Manchester.

Reform is running former academic, turned G.B. News presenter and far-right activist.

Matt Goodwin as its candidate in Gordon and Denton,

formerly a professor of politics in the School of Politics and International Relations

at the University of Kent.
