Adam Claremont is an American attorney practicing law in Hong Kong.

He appears on today's episode to tell Howie the troubling story of an exchange student,

here in Massachusetts for only a few days before she was severely injured in an on-campus incident

involving high-proof alcohol. Attorney Claremont is handling the students' multi-tiered lawsuit,

but also wishes to warn the public of the makers of ever-clear grain alcohol, who Claremont

alleges are not properly warning consumers of the inherent dangers of their product.

Welcome to Meet the Experts. Today we're going to be talking to Adam Claremont. He is a lawyer. He practices

in Hong Kong. He's a native of the Berkshires. And he's got a

very interesting case right now involving a terrible, terrible incident that happened with a woman

who was a student. Adam Claremont, welcome to meet the experts. Tell us about this case that you're

involved in. Thank you for having me. It certainly is a privilege to be here.

The case that I'm currently involved in revolves around an explosion that happened at

Worcester Polytechnic Institute back.

I think it was May 13th of this year, to be exact.

Essentially, a bunch of students were in the backyard, just casually hanging out with a small fire.

I mean, it was very calm.

There didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary going on.

They had a small fire on a stump in the backyard, and one of the students decided to add some grain alcohol as fuel.

Either he poured it into the fire or in close proximity to the fire, which caused

the vapors to ignite to travel back into the bottle and explode.
