My name is Jeff, and today Leah and I are happy to introduce you to SingleTrak's new staff writer, Matt Miller.

Hello.

So, Matt lives in Golden, Colorado, and he recently joined single tracks as a full-time

staff writer. So just this past May, he graduated from Metro State University in Denver with a degree

in journalism, which is pretty helpful for a mountain bike website like Singletracks.

So, yeah, we're stoked to have Matt on board.

Today we're going to talk to Matt, get to know him a little bit better, introduce him to you,

our audience, and then also talk about some of the other stuff that's going on here at single tracks this summer and looking forward.

So, Matt, tell us, when did you start mountain biking?

To put a date on it, it was summer 2012, so six or seven years now. So comparatively, not a super

long time. My buddy, he got a mountain bike. He just got out of the Navy and I'd been out of the

military every year or two also.

And yeah, I don't know. I just didn't really have any any hobbies. And so my buddy got a bike.

And I thought it was like the coolest, coolest bike I'd ever seen. And so, yeah, I wouldn't got a bike also.

Nice. Well, were you into like other outdoor stuff before that? Or was mountain biking or your first thing?

A little bit.
