League Cup semi-finals this midweek. Two evenly matched first legs, just the one controversial goal

at Wembley between Spurs and Chelsea. Nine goals at the Etihad. Crucially, Burton Albion

didn't get an away goal. And how was it there, Daniel, for you? It was the most bizarre game I think I've ever seen. Really? Yeah, it was. There was a period of about 20 minutes in the first half where City went really lax and off the ball, and there were only 1-0 up at that point. And you kind of thought, oh, this is a bit of a dump squib. And then they started... Was that when Burton had that chance? Yeah. And then City scored loads of goals. And again, you went, oh, that's a bit of a dump squid. Because City couldn't win either way. It was just, it was completely bizarre. They obviously totally outplayed Burton, but yeah, it was... You wrote a bizarre football match as if we were witnessing something so humiliating that it deserves some privacy, like an uncomfortable clinic appointment or a family argument.

Yeah, because you just felt sorry for a professional football team, which feels like it shouldn't happen.

That should be restricted to kind of kids football or computer game stuff.

It was, yeah, it was so humbling.

And blessing Nigel Clough after the game,

who'd had his chairman say, this is the biggest night of our lives, etc., etc. Just sort of said, yeah, we can't wait to face Doncaster at the weekend now. Well, they were looking forward to their first ever competitive meeting with Man City, and to borrow your line, they still are. Indeed. It was really weird to watch.
