Begin by noticing the state of your body and your mind right now.

And simply bring a kind attention to it.

You might feel the inflow and the outflow of the breath.

And as you feel each breath, let the mind calm and the body relax.

Now shifting your awareness away from the body and begin to listen to the play of sounds around you.

Notice them all.

Those that are loud and soft.

Those that are most distant.

And those most near.

Listen to your ears, but your whole awareness.

Notice

her eyes and then ashes of living no trace

including the appearing and disappearing of the gong.

Sounds arise and vanish, leaving no trace.

As you listen, let yourself feel or imagine any way you can that your mind is not limited

to the size of your head.

Sounds that your mind is expanding, becoming huge, an awareness that's open like the sky,

clear and vast like space.
