Welcome to Savi Psychologist Meditations. I'm your guide, Dr. Monica Johnson. Our first

meditation will be that of loving kindness. Loving kindness meditation allows us to experience

compassion, acceptance, and love towards ourselves and others.

For this practice, I'd like you to get in a comfortable position. For most people,

this is easiest lying down or sitting. While you're getting ready, we will take a short ad

break so we can experience the rest of this meditation free of distractions.

Now that you're in a comfortable position, let's bring our attention and awareness to the breath

and belly. If you like, you can even lie your hands gently on your low belly and feel it rise

and fall with each inhale and exhale.

We will engage here for about 30 seconds, simply noticing the sensations as we breathe in and out.

We'll now shift into this practice of loving kindness. I want you to bring to your mind.

Someone you truly believe has your best interests at heart. They can be a friend,

family member, therapist, teacher, or pet. If they are not closed already, please close your

eyes and bring them to mind as though they are sitting in the room with you right now.

With each inhale and exhale of your breath, let your happiness about them grow larger.

As you feel yourself expand with this joy, you will notice in your mind that they are feeling this

love as well. You may notice a warmth inside of yourself or that your lips may naturally want to

turn into a small smile. All of this is okay. Allow yourself to experience these sensations

as you focus on loving kindness that you experience with this person or pet.

Now let's try sending loving kindness to the support of person or pet.

As you hold their image in your mind, I want you to repeat these words either quietly to yourself

or in your head. May you be safe. May you be healthy. May you know peace.
