This story is called apple juice and pine cones. One day four children were playing at

our farm community outside Paris. One was Tan, who was not yet four and a half. The other three

were from her school. Ty was staying with us for several months while her father looked for a job in Paris.

The four children ran off to play on the hillside behind the house and were gone for about an hour.

When they returned to ask for something to drink, I took our last homemade bottle of apple juice and gave them all a full glass serving Ty last.

Since her juice was from the bottom of the bottle, I had some pulpinid.

When she'd noticed the particles, she pouted and refused to drink it.

So the four children went back to the games on the hillside, and Ty had not drunk anything.

Half an hour later, when I was meditating in my room, I heard her calling.

Tai wanted to get herself a glass of cold water, but even on tiptoes, she couldn't reach the forcet.
