Summary
Meditation: Awakening Compassion with Tonglen - Our hearts awaken as we let ourselves be touched by the suffering within and around us. They shine as we respond with care to what has touched us. This meditation uses the breath to guide us in letting in and contacting suffering, and offering out our love. With practice this meditation enables us to realize the truth of our connectedness and the luminous love that is intrinsic to awareness.

| 0:44.0 | This willingness to directly contact reality right here and offer care. |

| 0:59.0 | and sensing as you breathe in that you're contacting and aware of the life and shy you. |
| 1:08.0 | And as you breathe out, that you're flowing outward into the space around you, let and go. |

| 1:30.0 | Let yourself sense this particular juncture of your life and whatever is arising within you, |
| 1:41.0 | whatever reaction, whatever place of emotional difficulty is strongest. |
| 1:52.0 | It might be anger, might be fear, sorrow, confusion, |

| 2:14.0 | If it helps a sense what really evokes it, the worst part of things going on |
| 2:19.0 | and what really brings it up, this could be in your personal life or more societally, |
| 2:26.0 | just to help you get in touch. |
| 2:37.0 | And feel that as you breathe in you could directly contact where that vulnerability is. |
| 2:45.0 | Breathing in is like saying you're willing to touch it, feel it, be with it. |
| 2:52.0 | Let the breath come right to the place in your body where you feel most vulnerable, |
| 2:58.0 | maybe the throat or the chest or the belly. |
| 3:06.0 | For some it helps to put your hand where you feel it most strongly. |
