According to the New York Post, subway held what was described as an emergency meeting yesterday

with franchisees at its sub shops to strategize how to reverse

following sales and win back market share. The company pushed back on the idea that this was an

emergency meeting, but maybe it should have been.

Subway franchisees told the post that sales in recent weeks are down 10% from the previous year

while heavy discounts and promotions are eating into profits.
