Kamla Harris wasn't in attendance at last night's Al Smith dinner in New York on Thursday night. she did offer a video consolation to the attendees instead.

Harris enlisted actress Molly Shannon, who received her beloved Saturday Night Live character that she decided to bring out of retirement the Catholic school girl Mary Catherine Gallagher if you've ever watched S&L.

In the video Harris began by speaking about Al Smith dinner a tradition each election

season where the presidential candidates roast each other in themselves.

As she speaks Shannon runs behind her as Mary Catherine Gallagher and says things like, hey, what's going on?

Harris says, who is that? Harris then invites Mary Catherine to help her write her speech for the dinner, which she

describes an important tradition that she decided to skip and is so proud to be a part of,
