The exodus continues.

Hour by hour, minute by minutes,

more people are fleeing the terrifying reality of violence.

Over a million Ukrainians have fled their homeland

in the wake of Russia's invasion, and more are expected to leave.

Countless have been displaced inside the country.

And unless there is an immediate end to the conflict,

millions more are likely to be forced to flee Ukraine.

The European Union is doing everything possible to welcome those refugees,

and people around the world have donated money and supplies to help.

Women and children crossing the board at Medea are greeted by waiting relatives and friends

as they reach safety.

I'm still scared. I'm still afraid that I can't see her anymore.

Many of the refugees are women and children arriving with little more than the clothes on their backs.

I hope we will win soon.

The world will end and we come home again.

But this open arms approach also has people in similar situations wondering,

why so much goodwill towards Ukrainians?

And not us.
