| 0:00.0 | Once it gets eerily quiet and all the village people and Afghans go away, the attack comes shortly after. |
| 0:09.0 | I don't remember seeing the grenade hearing it, thinking about it, nothing. |
| 0:15.0 | So I said, hey Nick, what happens when your grenade comes up here? |
| 0:18.0 | And he said, my ass is off this roof. |
| 0:20.0 | And I said, dude, I'm right behind you. |
| 0:22.0 | Next thing I remember, I felt like I got hit really hard in the face. |
| 0:26.0 | The vision was as if I was looking at a TV with no connection. |
| 0:30.0 | It was just white and gray static. |
| 0:32.0 | My ears were ringing extremely loud, just as they are this very moment. |
| 0:38.0 | And the first thing I did, like any good marine, I tried to push myself up and shake it off. |
| 0:44.0 | And that's when I realized I could not feel any part of my arms from the shoulder down. |
| 0:50.0 | And I first thought, okay, I'm pretty sure I was in Afghanistan. |
| 0:54.0 | I thought maybe I got off of the roof, went on a foot patrol, stepped on an ID and the roof is just the last thing I can remember. |
| 1:01.0 | And those thoughts were interrupted by what I thought was my buddies messing with me, |
| 1:07.0 | importing warm water all over me. |
| 1:11.0 | And that's when it clicked. |
| 1:13.0 | It wasn't warm water. |
| 1:16.0 | Whatever happened was causing me to profusely bleed out. |
| 1:22.0 | That final piece of feeling the blood loss, |
| 1:27.0 | I knew or realized very quickly that that was it. |
| 1:33.0 | And that my final moments were upon me. |
