Welcome everybody out there and welcome John Sinban Matsu.

I am so excited about this interview and I think you're really, really going to enjoy it.

John has recently written a book called The Omnivores Deception, What We Get Wrong About

Meat Animals and Ourselves. And I was just saying before we started recording that it isn't

that often that I read something that really has a lot of new ideas that I haven't considered

before about what we do to animals and why that's such a huge problem.

And there's a lot in here.

This might be the best book I've ever read about our relationship with animals.

And I'm not just saying that.

John doesn't know this, but I'm not the type who would just say that.

Since we had like a terrible tech disaster before we started recording,

I'm not that well prepared with the intro. So I'm just going to

read your bio off of your book. John San Bon Matsu is Associate Professor of Philosophy at the Worcester

Polytechnic Institute in Worcester Mass. He is the editor of critical theory and animal liberation

and author of the postmodern prince, critical theory, left strategy, and the making of a new political

subject. But most significantly, in my point of view, he is the author of the Annamen of Wars

Deception. Welcome to our henhouse, John. Thank you so much for having me. I'm honored to be here.
